Volcano Pizza Review Cork - Is It Worth It?

Volcano Pizza is located in the Saturday Market outside Douglas Village Shopping Centre on Saturdays.

I finished the gym in Dennehy's Health and Fitness and decided to check out a pizza from Volcano.

The Order

I ordered a Margherita and it set me back €11.50 at the busy stall with tons of people queueing to try the pizza. The wait time was only 8 minutes and the service was genuinely top notch.

The Pizza

We had tested Bronx Pizza the day before and it certainly isn't on the same level as that.

The pizza is very thin and light. It tasted ok, but this is not a big pizza that is going to fill you up too much. It's more of a snack.

Taste wise, it is decent but don't expect a best pizza in Cork contender here. It's a low effort snack you don't put too much thought into, not the kind of pizza you'd get from a proper sit-down spot.

Value

This was lightly enjoyable, probably wouldn't visit again, and the value is not like Bronx where two slices absolutely fills you for €10.

It tastes kind of bland without much sauce or cheese, and the crust was quite chunky as well. Overall it wasn't particularly nice. This pizza does not fill you up for €11.50.

The Verdict

Volcano has a queue and the service is top notch, but the pizza itself doesn't live up to the hype. If you're after a proper feed or a serious contender for the best pizza in Cork, this isn't it. A 6.5/10.
