1. Fast Al's, Cork City
Cork pizza institution since 2003 with three city centre locations. Loaded with cheese, €10 for two slices and a can on the deal, plus student offers through the week. Cajun Chicken and Hawaiian are the standouts. Open morning till late.

2. Scoozi's, Winthrop Avenue
Italian-meets-Irish restaurant in the heart of Cork City since the 90s. Pizzas are thin and crispy with strong cheese and plenty of sauce. Slick service, good lasagne, central location just off Oliver Plunkett Street. Pizza is on the smaller side so don't plan to share.

3. Palmento, Douglas Village
Casual half-upscale pizza spot in Douglas, across from Barry's Bar. Bready pizzas with generous toppings, standout chips at €6.75, friendly staff and consistently great atmosphere. Pizzas €14 to €16.50.

4. Volcano Pizza, Douglas Saturday Market
Thin, light, snack-sized Margherita at the Saturday Market outside Douglas Village Shopping Centre. Sharp service and a long queue, but at €11.50 for a small pizza that does not fill you up the value is not there. Saturdays only.
