First Impressions

You enter through an unmanned electronic turnstile system where you scan your phone to get in. It is quite intimidating for a first visit. Once you are inside though, the scale of the place hits you. Six floors, three dedicated to weights, cardio areas, a boxing area, and loads of classes running throughout the day.

The Gym

It is huge. Six floors with three dedicated entirely to weights. You have got everything here - Olympic lifting platforms, machine weights, free weights, and all types of cardio. There is a boxing area which is a genuine bonus you will not find in most Cork gyms, although the bags are very hard. Classes run throughout the day if that is your thing.

At €38 per month it is the cheapest gym in Cork and there are membership options that get you access to all the Dublin Flyefit locations too. The crowd is very mixed and multicultural, all walks of life training in there. It suits serious lifters more than the lifestyle crowd. This is a place to get the work done, not to be seen.

It does get very busy at peak times and it can be hard to get on the machines you want, but that is the trade-off for the price. There is no free parking nearby so it works best for people already in the city centre for work or college. It is very popular with students.
